Mi Jong Lee
Lee, a forty-year design veteran whose credentials include Cornell University and Parsons School of Design, founded her eponymous line in 2014, after a successful presence in the retail world.
The collection’s pillars include classic foundations with a distinct influence from the world of fine arts, a refined embrace of color, original custom print design, and high ethics and sustainability standards. The brand is sold online, in our showroom, and in specialty stores across the US.
Lee was one of five recipients of The David Prize in 2024 for her work in the 'Jobs and Economics' sector - bringing volume garment manufacturing back to the New York Garment District. Learn more at the link below.
About the Atelier
At the heart of Lee’s decades-long fashion journey has always been a vertical infrastructure focused on preserving the art of garment construction and the heritage of New York’s historic garment district. The brand’s headquarters houses the atelier, where 100% of the collection is designed, produced, and manufactured, and our showroom, where we invite clients to experience our collections in person.
This infrastructure is unique and allows us to manufacture clothing that really works for our clients through made-to-measure, customization, and in-house alterations services. Our skilled production team consists of pattern makers, cutters, sewers, finishers, and pressers - some of whom have been with us for 10-25 years. Mi Jong Lee has been certified as Made in New York by the New York City Economic Development Corporation since 2016.
About the Showroom
After more than 40 years on Madison Avenue, it was vital that we maintain the personal experience and attention to detail our clients have come to know and expect.
In our showroom, we have the EMMELLE and MI JONG LEE collections available and our team is here to help you navigate style, color, and size and to assist you with building your dream wardrobe. Both collections can be previewed online and going into an appointment we will prepare any specific requests you have as well as pull suggestions based on any information you provide.
Seasonal styles are intermixed with our core collections and we have a variety of colors and sizes available for you to try. Our team will advise on alterations and customization and finalize selections with you before sending your order off to production.
